New Recipe! - Watalappan

Hi all, ok, so as we promised here is a delicious recipie to kick off our wonderful blog. Now, in case you'll don't know what 'Watalappan' is (pronounced as: What - a - lap - pan), it's sort of similar to Cream Caramel.

This is really a delicious desert which is really popular in many Asian countries, specially in Sri Lanka, where we are actually situated, but more on that later.

OK, so how do you make Watalappan? Simple....

All you need to make Watalappan is:

- 250g of Juggery

- 4 Eggs

- 1/2 Cup of Coconut Milk

- 1/2 tsp of Vanilla Essence

- 50g of Cashew

(Serves 4)
Preperation time :- 35 minutes

How do you make it....

Grate the Juggery. Beat the eggs. Mix Juggery and Coconut milk and add the eggs into it. Mix all together with Vanilla Essence. Pour the mixture into a oven proof dish and add cashews. Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes. (It's tastier when chilled, so keep refrigerated for about an hour)
